A. Cerafusion™ Technology
Cerafusion™ is chemical-free, safe and a green technology.
Cerafusion™ creates Active Oxygen just as nature does and it eliminates 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, mould, allergens, odours and pollutants in the air and on surfaces, naturally and without the use of chemicals.
The Cerafusion™ Technology, a culmination of patented technologies is designed to bring you the benefits of an effective and hassle-free solution to clean more than just the air – and thus enhance your life. The key lies in its ability to produce massive amount of negative ions and controlled levels of ozone – which it achieves when a high voltage is driven through the Cerafusion™ Ion and Ozone modules, a fusion od dielectric material and special metal alloys. The high optimal energy passing through the inner electrode to the outer electrode of the module induces massive ionization and controlled level of ozonation. This process is further enhanced by the state-of-art electronics to maintain precise modulation of ionization and ozonation power.
Cerafusion™ Technology has been tested scientifically to kill airborne and surface-bound bacteria and viruses effectively. Bacteria are killed when the cell membranes are broken while viruses are killed when the ribonucleic acids (RNA) are damaged.
B. Active Oxygen
Active Oxygen consists of negative ions and controlled levels of ozone. It is a natural element that is created through plant photosynthesis, the cascading of moving water, the UV rays from the sun, and from the occurrence of lighting in the sky. All these phenomena create Active Oxygen which is released into the air around us effectively becoming an organic form of disinfectant due to its high oxygen molecular structure. Having a high oxygen structure, Active Oxygen can sterilize and purify the surroundings, thus removing the harmful pollutants in the air we breathe and on the surfaces we touch.
C. Negative Ions
a. What is negative ion?
A negative ion is a negative charged oxygen atom. Negative ion clusters harmful airborne particles togther (including minute dust particles), removing them from the air and causing them to fall on the surfaces.
b. Is negative ion good for health?
Over 80 years of research, negative ions are found to be beneficial to human health.
D. Ozone
a. What is ozone?
Ozone is a gas made up of three oxygen atoms. It is created when the sun’s rays break up an oxygen molecule (O2) into single independent atoms and then they in turn re-attach to another oxygen molecule to form ozone (O3).
Ozone(O3) is created through rain, thunderstorm, waterfall, plant photosynthesis and moving water.
It is highly reactive and unstable relative to oxygen (O2). It has a half-life of 20 minutes which means that half of the ozone that is not used to oxidize pollutants will revert to oxygen in 20 minutes.
Within the atmosphere that we live in on the ground, it is a proven fact that ozone is supremely effective in killing harmful microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, mould and fungi by destroying these at their molecular DNA level. It is also proven to eliminate various harmful carcinogenic gases and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in the air we breathe and the surfaces we touch. It is also nature’s most powerful weapon to oxidize and neutralize allergenic organic compounds such pet dander and the protein in the faeces of dust mites etc.
Ozone has been proven to be the most effective disinfectant currently known to mankind. Ozone when infused into water is 50 times more powerful and over 3000 times faster acting than chlorine bleach. Ozone is been used for sterilizing the water supply in most of the developed countries and also for microbial eradication in the food supply chain.
For more info on question (e)
b. Some online articles said that ozone is harmful, is it true?
Ozone (O3) is proven to be highly effective in killing single celled organisms like bacteria, viruses and mould. So, it is natural to ask if it has the same effect on multicellular organism like human beings and animals.
Ozone(O3) does not in any way affect the cells of higher life forms such as animals and humans – meaning human beings do not suffer from any adverse effects from the ozone (O3), there is research to prove otherwise. Ozone is ever-present in the air we breathe, albeit at various concentration levels.
Amazingly when there are higher levels of pollution in the environment, the more ozone is produced by nature in its attempt to eliminate the pollution. So, the clear answer is that ozone is definitely not harmful to human beings but is essential to sustaining life on earth.
c. Is there such thing – good ozone and bad ozone?
There are many misconceptions, misunderstandings and indeed a great amount of misleading information surrounding ozone and its use. This is mainly rooted in a study that was conducted by the National Research Council and used by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the United States in its recommendations.
In short: A study was conducted on the impact of hydrocarbon emissions from vehicles and industries on human mortality rates. Pollution from vehicles and industries commonly referred to as “smog” – which consist mainly of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, volatile organic compounds, and other hydrocarbons – are on all accounts correctly reported as bad for human health. Also found within this group of pollutants was ozone. Because – remember – where there are higher levels of pollutants in the environment, there will be a higher level of ozone to help clean it.
Unfortunately, ozone was clustered in together with these other volatile pollutants and became a part of this group that made up “smog”. The higher the smog, the higher the ozone. Ozone then erroneously became the word to define these chemicals and by-products from the combustion of hydrocarbon. In other words, the study ended up using the word “ozone” to mean smog and pollution – thus portraying ozone as something entirely negative and detrimental to health when its very existence is to help the environment and our health. The definition can be found only in the first footnote in the Summary page of the study – “Estimating Mortality Risk Reduction and Economic Benefits from Controlling Ozone Air Pollution” – there is no mention of the definition thereafter, anytime and anywhere.
EPA has referred to smog as “ozone pollution” or “ground level ozone” (with no explanation that it defines “smog” as “ozone”), building the misconception that ozone is unhealthy. The reality is that smog (carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, volatile organic compounds, and other hydrocarbons) is bad for human health even at very low levels. Concluding that ozone is bad because it is found when there are high levels of environmental pollution is like saying policemen are bad because they are found where there are high levels of crime. It does not make sense and is entirely wrong.
For too many years ozone has been continuously buried under this erroneous and misleading definition of what it is, with many articles, professionals and marketing materials unknowingly quoting EPA. To compound this problem, sources that are derived from nature cannot be patented or owned, therefore ozone has also had a very difficult time finding a champion or powerful voice to lend itself to touting its benefits to our societies, businesses and to general consumer groups.
Please read more on question (d)
d. According to credible online sources such as the EPA, ozone is considered dangerous even at very low level. Is that true?
EPA has referred to smog as “ozone pollution” or “ground level ozone” (with no explanation that it defines “smog” as “ozone”), building the misconception that ozone is unhealthy. The reality is that smog (carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, volatile organic compounds, and other hydrocarbons) is bad for human health, while ozone (O3) is good.
Remember, whenever you hear or read that “ozone” is harmful or hazardous, they are referring to smog (or as referred to by EPA as ground level ozone or “ozone pollution”).
Medklinn Air+Surface Sterilizers emit controlled level of active oxygen, of which ozone (O3) is a compound.
Please refer to (e).
e. Are there any scientific or research paper to prove that ozone is safe for use?
Ozone (O3) is created by the mother nature to eliminate pollution in the air. Therefore, it is ever-present in the air we breathe. Its creation is critical and essential to sustaining life on earth.
There are many studies on ozone as follow:
– Ozone Air Quality Standards: EPA’s 2015 Revision
– WHO Air quality guidelines for particulate matter, ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide
– Environmental Protection Agency: National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Ozone; Final Rule
– OSHA: Indoor Air Quality in Commercial and Institutional Buildings
– U.S. FDA Regulatory Approval of Ozone as an Antimicrobial Agent – What Is Allowed and What Needs to Be Understood
– Ozone Tech Brief – A National Drinking Water Clearinghouse Fact Sheet
– EPA Guidance Manual – Alternative Disinfectants and Oxidants: Ozone
f. Is ozone safe for babies?
Yes, it is safe for babies. In fact, it is safe for everyone.
Please refer to (b).
g. Is ozone present in the air we breathe?
Yes. Ozone (O3) is ever present in the air we breathe but the concentration level is different at different places at different times.
Please refer to (a).
h. What is the safe level of ozone for humans?
Ozone (O3) is ever-present in the air we breathe, so it is safe although at very high concentrtation (>3.0ppm), it is difficult to breathe.
According to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) , the guidelines for Ozone O3 in the workplace are
• 0.2 ppm for no more than 2 hours exposure
• 0.1 ppm for 8 hours per day exposure doing light work
• 0.08 ppm for 8 hours per day exposure doing moderate work
• 0.05 ppm for 8 hours per day exposure doing heavy work
According to NIOSH , the recommended exposure limit for ozone is 0.1 ppm (0.2 mg/m3) for 24 hours exposure.
Medklinn Air+Surface Sterilizers emit active oxygen which is made up of negative ion (O-) and controlled level of ozone (O3). With our patented CerafusionTM Technology, the ozone (O3) level is controlled within 0.05ppm for the recommended coverage areas of the respective models.
i. Ozone kills bacteria, viruses and mould. Is it dangerous for human?
Bacteria, viruses and mould are single celled organism that are easily killed by ozone. However, ozone does not in any way affect higher life forms such as animals and humans – meaning humans do not suffer from any adverse effects from ozone. Therefore, it is not dangerous for humans and animals in fact it is critical and essential to sustaining life on earth.

A. What is Medklinn Air+Surface Sterilizer?
i. How does Medklinn Air+Surface Sterilizer work?
MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizers creates Active Oxygen to purify Air and Sterilize Surfaces, eliminating 99.9% of all allergens, bad smells, bacteria, viruses, mould, and other toxic substances in both air and surfaces – naturally and without any chemicals.
ii. Why do we need to sterilise the surfaces?
The pollutants in the air represent only a very small percentage of the total indoor pollution. Majority of the pollutants are trapped on surfaces such as table, beddings, carpet, sofa and furnishings. If you are only cleaning the air, you are only “cleaning” a very small percentage of the total indoor pollutants, leaving most the pollutants that are on surfaces and VOCs emanating from materials.
Therefore, the most effective way to clean any indoor space is to eliminate pollutants that are trapped on the surfaces as well as in the air.
iii. Does it function like an ionizer?
You can learn more at this link.
iv. Does it function like ozonizer?
You can learn more at this link.
v. Medklinn does not filter the air, how can it improve the air quality?

ix. How can I get fresh air if I keep my windows and doors closed all the time?
When you use the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer, your indoor spaces will be cleaner and fresher than the outdoors, especially if you are living in the city. Do not worry about the level of oxygen as there is always a constant flow and exchange of air from your room with the outside from the opening and closing as well as gaps in the door. Even with the windows and door closed, the percentage of oxygen will always be maintained at around 21%. The MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer is very effective in removing any smell or mustiness normally associated with closed rooms.
x. Can I use the device if I am using an air conditioner? What if my air conditioner comes with an ionizer?
It is fine to use the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer with an air conditioner. Most of the ionizers incorporated into air conditioners generate only a minimal number of negative ions and cannot clean the indoor air effectively. In addition, since most air conditioners are not in use continuously, indoor air will only be cleaned intermittently. However, with the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer, round the clock cleaning takes place, and therefore the indoor spaces are always refreshed.
xi. If I close my doors and windows and I am using a fan in my room, wouldn’t the room be stuffy?
This is dependent upon the orientation of the room with respect to the sun. It can obviously get hot and stuffy during the day. However, in any urban situation, opening the windows can be extremely hazardous as it allows pollution to continually enter the room.
xii. How do I know that the device is really working in cleaning dust and germs/dust mite allergens from my room as I cannot see it with my naked eyes?
After a day or so of operating the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer in an enclosed room, you will notice that your floor is dustier than usual. Active Oxygen is removing the dust from the air so that you are not breathing it in, and therefore not causing harm to you. With regular cleaning, and keeping windows and doors closed, the dust accumulating on the floor will be less and less. This is an indication that airborne dust and other pollutants have been reduced. If you suffer from allergies due to house dust mites, you may also notice that your allergies improve substantially with continued use of the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer, as the allergens in the air and on your bedding are destroyed by Active Oxygen.
xiii. I am unconvinced as I do not see any evidence of trapped dust unlike those in conventional air filters.
Please refer to (4)(a)(xi).
xiv. How can Medklinn Air+Surface Sterilizer help sinus, allergic rhinitis and asthma complications?
Sinuses are the cavities in our skull that fill with the air we breathe through our nose. In order to protect this passage, mucus is produced to help keep it clear of pollutants and allergens. But sometimes the tissue surrounding these cavities get inflamed, blocking the passage of air and trapping the mucus which is meant to protect us – turning the entire breathing process into the breathing nightmare called sinusitis. The most common pollutants that trigger sinus reactions are:
https://www.osha.gov/chemicaldata/chemResult.html?RecNo=9
https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npg/npgd0476.html
allergens such as the protein in the faeces of dust mites, pet dander, moulds and fungi, and toxic compounds such as chemicals, artificial fragrance, harmful gases and smoke.
Medklinn’s Air+Surface Sterilizers are one of the best short and long term solutions to managing sinusitis, allergic rhinitis and asthma complications because it can eliminate sinusitis causing contaminants that are in the air as well as on all surfaces, without the use of any chemicals whatsoever.
Its patented CerafusionTM Technology works by generating and emitting Active Oxygen into your living spaces continuously 24/7, effectively eliminating pollutants at a molecular level – including 99.99% of bacteria and viruses, VOCs, malodors and an entire spectrum of allergens such as moulds, spores, pollen, dust mite feces, pet dander etc.
B. Operation Guide
i. Why is there a metallic smell from the device? Does the smell indicate the effectiveness of the device?
The metallic smell is caused by the oxidation process. However, smell should not be used to determine the effectiveness of the device. Smell is very subjective and can vary from one location to another and at different times. A rough indication to determine if the device is operating is to detect hissing sounds from the unit. Place the unit next to your ear to detect the hissing sounds.
ii. How do I know if the unit is operating?
When the unit is switched on, by default – three LED light indicators will be lit. This indicates that the unit is operating at HI mode. In addition, you should hear a slight hissing sound coming from the unit.
iii. How do I turn on the fan (only applicable for Asens+60)?
By default, the fan is turned off. To turn on the fan, press and hold the control button for 5 seconds and vice versa.
iv. Where do I place the unit?
Please place the device under or next to a source of air circulation such as a fan or an air conditioner for best performance – the air current will help to disperse the Active Oxygen much quicker throughout the room.
Also, it is highly recommended to place the unit at least 2 feet from your normal sitting or sleeping position as well as at tabletop height.
v. How long should I leave the unit running?
MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer is designed to be in operation 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. This means that your indoor air and surfaces are being cleaned and refreshed throughout the day and night, reducing the dangers of air pollutants, airborne germs and dust particles to you and your family.
vi. Should I move it from room to room?
It is highly recommended that the device is kept in one room all the time. This will allow continuous cleaning of the air and surfaces within that room and ensure that it is always clean and fresh. Moving the device from room to room will prevent this round the clock cleaning.
vii. Is it safe to leave the device switched on when I am away on vacation?
It is perfectly safe to leave the device running even when the house is empty. In fact, leaving the unit on will ensure that the indoor air and surfaces are kept clean and fresh, and prevent fungal growth and musty smells developing. Just ensure that the ventilation slots of the unit are not covered so that excessive heat will not build up.
viii. (Autoplus) Why is the device affecting car’s radio frequency?
Because it produces the electronic magnetic interference, which affects the radio frequency.
ix. (Autoplus) Can I leave the device in the cigarette lighter socket under the hot sun?
Yes, in working condition, the device can withstand up to 35°C.
x. (Autoplus) Do I need to unplug the device every time when I leave my car?
No, you do not need to unplug the device.
xi. How long does it take for the device to clean the air in the car/room?
This will depend on the following factors:
– Size of the vehicle/room
-Pollution level in the vehicle/room
-Duration of the journey (applicable to cars only)
Generally, it will clean the air continuously once the unit is turned on. For residue odour, it might take from a few days up to a few weeks depending on the condition.
