How does Active Oxygen benefit our daily lives?
Personal Solutions
Apply for three days of leave and you’ll get nine days off this Raya as it falls on a Wednesday (5 June 2019) and Thursday being a public holiday as well. This gives us all ample time to travel back to our hometowns whether we are celebrating Raya or not. It is going to be a slow 2 weeks of work this early June as the month of Ramadan will come to an end and the month of Syawal is welcomed with lots of festive joy and excitement all around us. But here also comes the much dreaded journey back to our hometowns where we have experienced nightmare-like bumper to bumper traffic jams on the highway.
Urban living in the comfort of our homes, we are in a safe haven where the environment is controlled and we can safely keep our family members protected from the air pollution and other hazardous matter. The safety shield that we rely on is gone the moment we are out of our homes and we then become subject to the surrounding environment. The air that we breathe could contain high a concentration of bacteria and viruses apart from the toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) especially when we are in our vehicles travelling for an extended period of time. Bacteria has been proven to grow and spread very quickly in certain parts of a car such as the seats, gear knobs, and aircond vents. This leaves us with the question of how to live with the rather unhealthy outdoor air around us especially when are travelling for hours, and how to have a healthier balik kampung this Hari Raya.
As mentioned above, the aircond vents are usually the dirtiest parts in a car because of the dark and moist spaces inside. This is a common occurrence in most vehicles where these hard to reach places are never cleaned and properly sanitized. Apart from bacteria growth, there is also mould and bad odour that is commonly found in cars brought in by other people or sweaty/oily fabric. Just like how we purify the air and sanitize the surfaces at home, we should be doing the same in our cars. Many of us overlook the importance of doing so even though we spend hours in the car each day, thus breathing in all kinds of pollutants and affecting our health in the long run. What is even more serious is if we are asthmatic or have children in the car while travelling on those road trips because these groups of people are more vulnerable to the changing air quality as we travel around.
Being in the car is somewhat similar to being at home, it is a contained area and there are steps that can be taken to have the contaminants under control. Doing so will ensure that our balik kampung experience from now on will be much healthier. Active Oxygen is a natural element that is found in abundance in the forest, and the great outdoors. It is created by nature such as plant photosynthesis, the crashing of waves, the cascading of water, and the occurrence of lighting. When this happens, a gas (Active Oxygen) which is made up of negative ions and O3 is created. Having high concentration of oxygen in this beneficial gas, the surfaces and air that it comes into contact with becomes purified and sterilized the natural way. Many people may not be fully aware that this colourless gas attaches itself onto bacteria, virus, and mould molecules and destroys these harmful microorganisms rendering our air fresh and healthy to breathe again.
