Company absorbs GST now until it’s zero rated from June 1.

Shah Alam, May 17: A manufacturer of air and surface sterilisers, Medklinn International Sdn Bhd, has decided to absorb all GST for its consumer products with immediate effect following the Government’s announcement that GST would all be zero-rated from June 1.

Its Managing Director Peter Tham said this special rebate was for direct purchases from the company’s service centre at 22, Jalan Pengacara U1/48, Temasya Industrial Park, Glenmarie here or through its online store.

Explaining his move, Tham said the company decided to give early relief to consumers in support of the Government’s decision to abolish GST. “Consumers do not have to wait until June 1 to enjoy GST-free prices. We will charge them only the product cost without GST but we will pay the GST from our own funds. In other words, we absorb the GST from now till June 1.”

Tham added a major portion of its sales were online and the prices on its website were being adjusted to reflect this decision.
